Really need help in Tacoma area. As in totally desperate.

Hey guys, you haven't heard from me in a while. Have had a lot of crap to deal with and my M1009 is currently the smelliest part. I have to sell it and get some kind of crap commuter car due to impending divorce. I paid $6k for it, and some of yall have seen it and it is a nice one. But some...

    M1009 Fuel gauge...

Exactly. Three screws on the gauge that fit into three sockets in the cluster. There are even little plastic guide tabs that help you make sure it is seated correctly. Mechanically I am a moron and this was easy as pie for me. You will have fun, have no problems, and feel like a boss when you...

    M1009 Fuel gauge...

Remove the bezel and then a second plate, pop the gauge out, pop the new one in (it just pressure fits into a pronged socket), put the plate and bezel back on and done. Should take you all of 10 minutes.

    Mystery wire identification help.

Absolutely. I have all the TM's downloaded and have been reading. I mostly got the books because I don't even understand what a relay does. But it became very apparent that if I am going to do what I would like as far as the dash and getting some more action out of the headlights, that I better...

    Mystery wire identification help.

You guys are great! Also picked up some books on automotive electrical basics today so hopefully my stupid question count will go down in the near future.

    Mystery wire identification help.

So now that I am getting elbows deep into electrical stuff after being a bonehead and breaking things, I have two wiring mysteries I would like some help solving if possible. All of the wiring diagrams pretty much mystify me as they are just too small and way too fuzzy when sized up. So, without...

Dead batteries after removing dash and fuel gauge?

No, they weren't disconnected, but the voltmeter had a quick disconnect fitting on it, and nothing touched anything metal to metal. No on the blackouts as well. I will stick the batteries on the charger tomorrow (sucks that my scummy 4-plex has no garage and no external AC. Have to leave the...

Dead batteries after removing dash and fuel gauge?

Yes. I searched. So about 4 days ago I removed the dash, as I am working on a new one. I figured I would let the M1009 run for a while today so I went out and started it (voltmeter was not connected) and got nothing, noticed that Gen 1 was pretty dim. Connected voltmeter, got even less. I am...

New dash GEN1 GEN2 workaround ideas.

Again, the awesomeness of SS shines. Met my second member in person today and got some solid help later. Can't beat it folks.

New dash GEN1 GEN2 workaround ideas.

Ok well when I think about "resistor", all I can envision is one of the little dinky bits I have to solder on, like you would see on a PCB, are we talking about the same thing? Or something substantial I can actually wire in?

New dash GEN1 GEN2 workaround ideas.

2 Voltmeters would substitute the lights and the circuit would still work as intended? If so I would much rather go this route, though not with digital. Thanks for the help and search-fu assistance guys. I really need to do some reading up when it comes to electrical systems, I am completely...

New dash GEN1 GEN2 workaround ideas.

Just saw another thread, will M1031 PTO indicator light housings/lenses work? Anybody?

New dash GEN1 GEN2 workaround ideas.

The board is getting completely eliminated. My main concern is maintaining that resistance so that the 24v circuit works as intended, and I have some sort of mounting solution that will work for those lights while maintaining an overall military issue appearance. The whole dash is a sheet of...

New dash GEN1 GEN2 workaround ideas.

Ok, so things have gotten to the point with the new sheet metal dash where all I have to do is figure out what to do with the gen lights. I almost screwed the pooch and committed to converting to 12V just because of this, then the poltergeist that is doghead invaded my dreams and admonished me...

    Blackout lights - other options?

This post made my day. Also, fixing the **** light.

    Blackout lights - other options?

God I love you doghead. I really really do. We need a smooch smiley. Yes, main blackout light. And lets go with "useless -> less useless".

    Blackout lights - other options?

So, my main blackout light is toast. I read in another thread where someone fried a wiring harness trying to convert it over to fog lights. Frankly, the blackouts are useless to me to an extent, and I am looking for other options while maintaining the appearance. Can I connect a red lens...

    PNW 2012 Fall Mini-Rally

M1009. Needs new injectors and new IP. I am no mechanic by any means but I have the TM's and am going to go ahead and give it a shot doing it myself as soon as the family finance office (shes downright mean) clears the funds.
