    86 M1009 Build

They were on the truck when I got it, so I don't know much about them. I haven't seen any part numbers or manufacturing info on them, but I'll look. I think they are just generic steps. The PO booger welded them to the frame, honestly I am planning on cutting them off eventually.

    86 M1009 Build

Got the new weatherstripping in the passenger door and dyed the door cards black to match. So the only weatherstripping I have left to install is the removable top pieces and the strips for the cab to door seal. Everything seems to fit pretty well, although I'm not completely happy with the way...

    Wait Light staying on

I got a replacement GP card in the mail last night from antennaclimber. It fixed my issue. I can't say how pleased I am with antennaclimbers customer service!

    86 M1009 Build

I haven't put a lot of miles on them yet, but when I have taken it out, I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. I put dyna beads in as I bolted them together. I also have the PVC beadlocks installed and they are 8 bolt rims so they are pretty good at self centering.

I got the vent window, window sweep and window channel weatherstripping on the driver side door this weekend. I was also able to get the weatherstripping and window sweeps on the rear window. I took pics, but don't have them with me right now. I got all my weatherstripping from 1AAuto.com and it...

    Wait Light staying on

Well, I was contacted by antennaclimber about my issue. I'm really impressed with the level of customer service he provides! I'm going to do a little more testing this weekend and I'll let everyone know what I find.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I ordered the complete weatherstrip seal kit for my 1009 today. 1AAuto.com has them for 65% off. Everything I've read about their products seems to be positive. Its a really good deal if anyone else is looking for any weatherstripping at all. I'm gonna ad the link to it, but if I'm not allowed...

    Two battery questions

All you have to do is extend the battery cables to the driver side.

    Two battery questions

Mine is 12v so its pretty straight forward. but if it was 24 I would wire the driver side like the front battery.

    Two battery questions

I am running civilian battery trays on the driver and passenger side. They fit well and are more compact than the military versions. I used standard 6ft battery cables from oreilly's to run across the front of the radiator. Really the only thing you need to do is ground the driver side to...

    Wait Light staying on

So I am still in the middle of revitalizing my gauge pod and have a weird problem. When I turn the key, my wait light comes on as it should. My GP solenoid triggers and the GPs get hot as they should. But after the cycle is complete the solenoid turns off and the wait light gets dimmer, but...

    86 M1009 Build

I got a little more done this weekend. The dash lights were very dim, so I took the dash apart and painted the inside of the cluster with chrome paint. I need to take it out again, my right blinker isn't lighting up. It's probably just a loose connection but I was tired when I got it in, and...

    86 M1009 Build

Well, I took the front fender off this weekend in an effort to align my door. I think my driver door is twisted. I can't get the top edge to seal properly when the rest of the door is aligned. Can anyone give me any tips?

    86 M1009 Build

I got a set of blackout lights from an SS member sometime last year and finally had some time to get them in. They are the updated version so a small modification had to be made. No big deal though, it fits well now. Surprisingly all the original connections were there except one for the...

    86 M1009 Build

Well it's been longer that's I had hoped, but I've had some personal issues to deal with. I finally got a couple of hours this morning to work on the blazer. Swapped out the rollers with hummer wheels and tires. The runs are rubbing on the control arm, but I've got a set of back spaced wheels...

    Is this a good buy?

I bought my M1009 in San Diego in Sep of 2012 for 900 bucks. It had some issues, but with about 3 grand it running and that including a paint job.

14B FF in the back and Dana 44 in the front. She finally got delivered last Thursday. Making a checklist of the things I need to fix to get her driving reliably, but there are only a few things on that list. I will be uploading more pics, and starting projects soon.
