A film production company has asked me about renting several of mine for a film to be produced locally, with the filming to take just a few days. I'm not sure what would be a fair rental rate. The $500 a day sounds pretty good. Does anybody have any other data points for HMMWV rental rates...
I have not had occasion to get into a 12K axle rebuild yet, so I have not previously looked for any alternative boots to the 57K3515 kit called out in the parts manual. One thing to note if you do use the 57K3515 kit is that it does not include the tulip, part 5715542, as noted on the HPG...
Can you tell what is leaking on the IP? Could be the front seal weep hole, advance plunger seal, injector line fitting or other place? A leaking injector line fitting or the advance plunger seal might be correctable without removing the pump.

My son and I replaced a rear fender over the summer. I found the Youtube video by AMTAK2 to be helpful. One thing we did different was that we completely removed and reattached the piece across the front attachment point (behind the rear seat area) rather than cutting a v-notch in it and...
I have had several that were very squirrelly as described, and the issue was that the rear tires were toed out. It is easy to detect and correct with a string alignment. I would check toe with a string on each side, and set the rears neutral. This can make a big improvement even with a large...
Glad the problem cleared up. I'll just mention one case I had in which a torque converter had a knock because it had the wrong bolts installed. The bolts for the flywheel cover are longer and had gotten mixed up apparently during prior maintenance. The longer bolts bottom out so they seem tight...
If you scroll down in Upcoming Events you should find the upcoming MVPA Kilroy chapter event in October 2023, in Bullitt County KY.

If the shifter is in a forward position, the forward clutch should be engaged and the transmission should be engaged in a forward gear. From a stop, it should be first gear, or second if the controller is not powering the solenoids. Engagement with a jolt when rpm is raised (if that is what is...
Are you saying that it acts like it is neutral and then engages when you give it some throttle? And regarding the incline, is it uphill, downhill or both?

Check out AC Delco part 15557751. You can see applications on O'Reillys website for example. It fits lots of 6.2/6.5 models, also 5.7/7.4 gas applications, probably easy to find in a junkyard.

A silicone oil formulated for low temperature heat transfer (e.g. Dow Syltherm XLT) would address some of the issues, e.g. viscosity and the objectionable odor of some fluids. Still there is a penalty vs. water in heat capacity and thermal conductivity. So it takes more circulation to provide...
If you are concerned the connection is poor under the silicone, then check for voltage drop while cranking. For example, on the positive connection, connect a meter between the positive cable at the battery post and the inside of the passthrough connector or at the starter positive terminal...
I'm working on a M1045A2 rear fender replacement at present, and had trouble finding the various lengths of rivets required. I found Skybolt Aerospace Fasteners online and bought the rivets from them. They have a nicely laid out website, online ordering with credit card, and they stock the...
