Why Ya Gotta Be So Mean?

I like it and I think it complements the hood scoops. I do laugh when people talk about practicality and these trucks.

46 vs 53 inch tires on a bobbed deuce?

1400r20s I think are the best choice. They look massive, no need for a lift, though they will rub a little if you push the truck in articulation. Plus if you ever want to be able to change a tire by yourself, 1400s feel tons lighter then a 1600.

    Detroit Locker Question

Something you should think about is if your truck doesn't have power steering you should seriously consider it or place lockouts on the truck. Normal easy driving around on the roads you should be fine. Your lockers will do their thing and allow one wheel to spin faster when you let off the...

M35a2 conversion to M35a3 dual circuit brake system

I bought the truck drove it home. It sat for about 18months and then I sold it to my neighbor about a year ago before I moved. I couldn't tell you how much better the brakes are because I never bled them properly but if you pumped them they worked great. More work needs to be done on fit and...

    Custom ground cam.

Yes the air coming out of the turbo is hotter then the coolant. Using coolant to cool the incoming air is common for engines built in this era.

    Crew cab build started

That steering wheel looks a little tight to the "lap" area

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Search online for Dual Voltage Alternator/Generator, Niehoff, 260A/140A, 14/28V or something similar and you can find them. They're used in modern military trucks because the trucks run on 24v but some ECUs and trans controllers require 12V. How exactly it works I would guess its just two...

    W3AZEL's crew cab build

Installed the dual voltage alternator finally. 200AMP version. Used a plate of 1/4 steel as the base. A 2" strip of 1/4 to extend out to the front mounting tab and two 1/2" mounting tabs. Mounting holes are moved 1 1/4" up and a 1/4" out. Used 7014 rods on the plates and triple pass 11018 for...

I didn't realize how close you are. I don't think I've ever been within driving distance of another crew cab build.

    LT. Dan M35a2 Modification Thread

Interested as well. I don't want to mount something like this and then mess the bed up when I try to lift my 14.00 with rim off the ground.

should i put a Detroit locker in the front end?

I think it comes down to people are cheap and the front axle is usually the last one to get a locker installed.

should i put a Detroit locker in the front end?

Without power steering I would really have to go with no on the front locker. I drove the truck once without power steering after installing lockers front and rear. It was a total nightmare. The steering wheel will snap out of your hands when you apply gas especially when shifting. I got the...

What mods would you say are the most important or give the most utility to a deuce?

I will eventually. The truck will be a dark grey with black accent when it finally gets sprayed. With the cold here I don't think I'll get to paint her till spring. Spent my summer weekends taking her to the river and camping instead of getting finished up.

What mods would you say are the most important or give the most utility to a deuce?

I would disagree completely with this statement. It just takes money and commitmet. More commitment then anything else. For money just do what i do and slowly build up the cash. A hundred or two every month into a truck fund and before you know it your truck is coming along. Maybe a big donation...

What mods would you say are the most important or give the most utility to a deuce?

http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?122873-W3AZEL-s-crew-cab-build&highlight= Here is my build thread you can check out. I think i have a total of 18k in the truck but I feel like I have underestimated that.

What mods would you say are the most important or give the most utility to a deuce?

I love my truck and all the mods i have done with her but I will say they are expensive. #1 Crew cab #2 Power steering (more confident driving in traffic and around town, one hand for steering one for shifting) #3 Super Duty pick-up seats (very comfortable to drive) #4 Lockers and lock out...
