    Building Slave Cable

I appreciate the offer 98G. I have brand new slave ends and new 2/0 cable so I planned on making a set. I could use the crimpers for other MV related projects but, again, thank you for your offer….Bill

    Building Slave Cable

Thanks to everyone for your input. It sounds like the hydraulic crimper is the way to go, so that is what I will do. Now to find a good unit with steel dies rather than aluminum. thanks again….Bill

    Building Slave Cable

For those who have built or repaired slave cables, what is the best way to attach the lugs to the 2/0 cable? Solder, crimp, or both?

Looking for a cheap radio to talk to RT524 from another vehcle or on foot.

If your radios are in working order you are probably sitting on a gold mine. At least in terms of up here in PA. Working 524’s and 77’s are almost unobtainium.

    Civilian 6 Meter to Vic-1

Found a solution. By connecting a Wouxun KG-UV7D (with 6 meter capability) to a Rugged Radio Intercomm system (these are used for racing, talking with co-drivers and pit crews) the problem is solved. This Intercomm also allows cell and music access via Bluetooth if one desires. The headsets...

Looking for a cheap radio to talk to RT524 from another vehcle or on foot.

Naturally, the other assumption of positive intent is that the original poster has an amateur license for operating his RT-524.

Looking for a cheap radio to talk to RT524 from another vehcle or on foot.

I don’t recalll the original poster requesting an illegal solution. Most people assume positive intent. When you purchase a car you must have a drivers license to operate it. When purchasing a radio reputable businesses state right on their website that you need an amateur radio license...

    Civilian 6 Meter to Vic-1

Several of us in our MV group have RT-524s with Vic-1s. It seems the RT-524s are frequently failing. Has anyone had luck with either connecting a civilian 6 Meter radio to a Vic-1, OR, connected a civilian 6 Meter radio to an aftermarket intercom system? Thanks in advance…Bill

New VIC-1 / VIC-3 Intercom to Civvy Radio Adapter Design

Augi….great work. I have been researching replacing RT-524 radios with a modern 6 meter radio as the old radios seem to be failing quite frequently in our MV group. Does the radio attach to your box simply using a cord from the radios external speaker jack? And, if so, will any radio with an...

    LS-671/VRC

I know the LS-671 is designed to work with Sincgars set-ups however, has anyone hooked to a RT-524/Vic-1 set-up???? And, if so, what is your set-up? Thanks in advance...Bill

    At wits end...Deuce heater ducting

UPDATE: my son, 6’2”, 280 lbs, had removed the seats to paint the interior of the cab (he is doing an awesome job - looks beautiful) and got upside down with his feet up the back wall of the cab, and was able to get his big hands on the duct hose and pushed it partially onto the attachment for...

    At wits end...Deuce heater ducting

Jeepsinker thanks for your disheartening yet honest information. I may just insert a piece of smaller tubing/pipe into the boss with a 90 degree angle and attach the vent hose to that. The hose should not have to be tight - as long as it’s in the area the fan will push the air up towards the...

    At wits end...Deuce heater ducting

Hey thanks Barrman. I did remove the glove box for the passenger side and that was a breeze. However I’ve struggling with the drivers side. Consensus is to move the gauge panel - that’ll be my next attempt.

    At wits end...Deuce heater ducting

Yeah I hear you. Out of all the projects my son and I have done on 3 deuces, the drivers side defroster vent is the poorest design we’ve seen. I could not lay down like that - I’d probably have to remove the seats.
