What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Drug the m246 home from a friend's place after fixing it up enough that it'd move around on its own. It's not roadworthy yet so we flat towed it... the multi was slow but she got it done!

    The next Project an ASMH

Id be very much interested in this... I just blew a hoist hose on my M246 with the A-W crane... I was hoping I could just get normal lines made for it...

    multifuel 5 tons!

Hey fellas! Long time no see! Got myself some OD iron again. Netted myself an ex-fire M54A2 closer to the beginning of the year and did some stuff to it. Threw some G177s under it and had to put a new hydraulic head on the pump after it spit the key. Threw a couple 2 hole injectors from an LDT...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I fired the poor girl up in the 5 degree weather, walled off the rad and mixed in enough extra coolant so I could accurately test the mixture for the brutally cold weather thats coming in. It was, ah, significantly less then impress... but it fired up and got as warm as it could for the temp its...

    M35A2 brake light issues

Follow up: I crawled under the truck and jumped the brake light switch (I know it works as I've already verified that) so I would need 2 people. I then unplugged the turn signal switch and checked for 24 volts at pin D which is the signal from the switch and had a good reading. I then jumped...

    M35A2 brake light issues

This has a fluid switch on it which I've confirmed works.

    M35A2 brake light issues

Yup, all the lights were on, service lights on with panel on full blast.

    M35A2 brake light issues

Picked up a 69 m35 this last week non running. Got it fired up, bled the brakes, all the fluids have been changed and now im onto lights. So far the issue I'm have is no service brake lights. I've got service running likes, blinkers (they stay on solid cause the flasher is shot but they do come...

No fuel at injectors, after replacing filters. Advice needed.

Sounds like the fuel cutoff. Follow the shutoff cable down to the IP and you should see a box with two flathead screws. Pull that off and there will be a small arm with some linkage hooked to it. Depending on if someone has made it into the pump before there will be safety wired screws holding a...

Here are some updates on the 506. Been a trusty weekend warrior!

    1942 cckw project thread

Alright, finally time for an update. I ended up having to pull the transmission, clutch and flywheel to get the truck running. The ring gear of the flywheel was broke in half so after replacing that... i burned up the starter. Figures... i bought a starter and threw that in and had the engine...

    1942 cckw project thread

Well, seems I have a new found problem... compulsively buying MVs... i picked this g506 up when I was supposed to pick up a parts cckw for mine and an m211 302. However, after looking at the 506 and mulling it over in my head... i elected to use the cckw more for parts then anything. The 506...

    1942 cckw project thread

A little more of an update. I got the transmission out and as it would turn out... its heavy. The engine is still stuck, so my theory about the transmission being the thing hanging the engine up was wrong.

    1942 cckw project thread

I'll have to do some questioning at the shop. Ill see what I can do though. I'm guessing the H110s are the split axles?

    1942 cckw project thread

Are parts easy to come by for those axles? Maybe I'm better off just going with the other chassis or something?

    G7117 Axle questions

Youve got a real long road ahead of you to swap in a 6BT. Ill admit I thought the same when I drug home my CCKW last sunday but after thinking on it for a few days I decided against it and opted for the 150 horse 302 instead of anything else. It will look original with the added benefit of way...

    1942 cckw project thread

I did some work on the truck today. While the engine swap wont be nearly as smooth as I would like, it still wont be bad. I pulled the intermediate shaft off the transmission and got the transfer case to spin "freely". I think the brake drum is dragging pretty good so I think Ill need to back...

    1942 cckw project thread

I'll end up making a new one. We make flywheels for our business so its nothing out if the ordinary.

    1942 cckw project thread

from the write-up I read he said it wasnt possible to redrill. If its true or not Im not real sure. If there isnt anything different from the 270 flywheel then i should have one a couple days after I get everything apart. Im a machinist with access to a CNC lathe that could turn it out in about...

    1942 cckw project thread

Alright, the stuff about the motor mount I had read about but it wasnt really clear on the flywheel. I can get a flywheel made rather easily (I can make it myself) but need to figure out what differences there are between the 302 civvy flywheel and the 270 besides the bolt circle.
