    M1031 Apecs 4500 controller programming

This is a cold weather project for me too. I'll keep you posted on how to connect the controller to the Woodward software.

    M1031 Apecs 4500 controller programming

I just bought an APECS 4500 with actuator on fleabay for $60 (less than what I would have to pay for the housing and connectors of a DIY controller) and will report soon on the interfacing with the PC-based calibration software. The calibration software is available free from Woodward here...

    M1031 Apecs 4500 controller programming

Having the necessary sensors and effectors already installed makes the project a whole lot easier. Finding a M1031 configuration file would obviously be the quickest way to success but if you cannot find one I would not discount the route of evolving your own configuration. Most likely, the...

    M1031 Apecs 4500 controller programming

The APECS 4500 is a simple PID controller. Factory default settings and tuning procedure are described in the manual starting at page 43. Since the M1031 has a mechanically controlled injection you need the mechanical actuator for the injection pump and a way to measure the engine rpm. PS: I...

The official 2023 Southeast Military Vehicle Rally buy-sell-trade thread (the event formerly known as the Georgia Rally).

I just came back from the rally where we had a great time. Since I did not talk to wheelspinner there, could you please find out what his schedule is and where I could pick up the tank. Drop off in Hughesville is not a problem as I often take the backroads to the Bay Bridge to avoid the insanity...

The official 2023 Southeast Military Vehicle Rally buy-sell-trade thread (the event formerly known as the Georgia Rally).

Depending on where you live in MD, I could pick a tank up in NC and drop it off. I will head North with a mostly empty trailer about a week after the rally.

The official 2023 Southeast Military Vehicle Rally buy-sell-trade thread (the event formerly known as the Georgia Rally).

I am also in the market for a (knuckle boom) crane that I can graft onto the back or my FLU419 SEE in lieu of the backhoe. I'll be at Windrock Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The official 2023 Southeast Military Vehicle Rally buy-sell-trade thread (the event formerly known as the Georgia Rally).

Still looking for the door on a MEP-952B generator (APU for tanks) that covers the generator section.

Does anyone need a seal kit for the tall hydraulic jack? Cost is $41 from the manufacturer but shipping from Germany a minimum of $54. I'll spread the shipping cost over multiple kits if there is interest. LMK.

Pulling engine and transmission to insulate firewall?

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll look for the interior padding. Pulling the engine and insulating the firewall is an add-on project to the main task of installing A/C .The interior firewall is bare and easy to get to at the moment. Harmonic balancer is already ordered and hoses/belts will...

Pulling engine and transmission to insulate firewall?

Thanks for the info. Did you leave the transfer case connected to the transmission? I was planning to take it off to reduce weight and to avoid getting hung up somewhere with the extra width.

Pulling engine and transmission to insulate firewall?

OK, I am going to pull the engine/transmission. Couple of questions: Does the big electrical connector on the firewall come apart from the fuse box inside or do I have to take the harness off the engine? Take the lines off the hydro-boost unit or take the PS pump off the engine? Where is a...

Pulling engine and transmission to insulate firewall?

Can the engine and transmission of a M1009 be pulled together from the front if the front grille assembly, hood, and both outer and inner fenders have been removed? I removed the entire front grille assembly to install a condenser for air conditioning and I am tempted to add a day or two to the...

The whole STE/ICE-R harness is easy to remove after tilting the cab. Makes the rest of the wiring and plumbing easier to troubleshoot if necessary.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Looks great from the distance. Would be nice to see some close-up pictures and a description of the construction details.

    M1009 Air Conditioning

Do you mean the weatherstripping/seals in the air-handler box?

    M1009 Air Conditioning

Cut new hole in firewall, patched old one, and installed interior air box: Blower/Evaporator mated to air box: Now waiting for condenser, compressor, hoses and fittings to arrive. Will clean and test the air box in the meantime.
