i'll answer my own question about locking the T -136 - 21 t-case in an all time 6x6 position =
took it apart today and welded the two sprags together with the sprag ring.
simple and easy.
i pulled out the t-case today, T-136-21 sprag.
it's weight is 537lb and it's size is less than 1/3 of the 331.
sorry, but there's no way the 331 is only 340lb more than the T-136.
you can laugh and/or patronize as much as you wish but you'd better make sure first there's no mistake here.
add...
any idea about the t-case weight?
mine is the T-136-21 sprag operated.
BTW - is there a way to lock the t-case in the 6x6 position?
i want it to be all time 6x6.
it's one thing to quote from a manual and another to actually pull one out.
the engine i pulled out was no way near 400 kg. more like twice that weight.
are you sure it was 872 and not 1872???
i know that the LD 465 weight is apprx. 1800 lb but it is 478 cid and the 331 is only 331 cid, so there may be a difference there although the 331 is older.
yes i did.
one reply said 872 lb which is obiously wrong and the other said arround 1600 as an evaluation.
i wondered if someone actually knows the answer.
the rest of the truck is here, but here is far away - tel aviv israel....
i hope everyone here is well and alive..... :)
sorry to respond here some 8 years after this thread was started, but i just found it in my search for the answer to an un answered question:- how much does this OA 331 engine really weigh??
i pulled mine from a REO M-35 a few days ago and it...
