    M925A2 Delco Style Alternator

Since you are idling your truck anyway what about running a coolant line in/out from the engine and just powering a small fan to blow thru a heater core? Steady low/med heat, would use 24v (no inv), and low drain for batts...Plus you don't have to listen to (or pay for) high idle all night...

    M930A2 Hydraulic Issue

I know this is an older thread but did you find the problem? What was the fix? So often these threads list the problem that matches other members having the same problem but the OP never comes back and gives the update that would have helped future members doing searches for help...

    LED Gauge Panel Backlighting Upgrade

Amen to that! Someone on here said the parts are what's expensive on these trucks...I think "Time" just might be the most expensive thing...:???:

Air dryer freeze up and other problems

Yep...an old saying to remember operating switches in right order was: UP-UP DOWN-DOWN This meant that to start truck, turn on upper switch first then lower To stop truck, turn off lower switch first then upper worked well when new GI's had to recite before switch movement...

Show your 5 tons in the snow.

Ditto on the salt fear and it's not just up North...we got 10 inches of snow and the temp hovered around 5 degrees... I took the truck out driving to see if anyone needed help and the next day my truck looked like a frosted mini wheat with the salt spray on it...they are using that salt liquid...

Buying a M939 at auction: What to look for and to be prepared to fix

See post #24...He asked about getting the truck on the trailer and to the storage facility...that was what this recommendation was for...when he gets to AK he can do the Alt mod and load up all 4 batteries...

Buying a M939 at auction: What to look for and to be prepared to fix

Just take 2 good batteries with you, take out the 4 old batteries, hook up the two good batteries and drive away. As long as the alt sees the correct voltage that the two good batts will provide, it won't be working overtime to charge 4 dead batteries...don't take the chance on the condition of...

Buying a M939 at auction: What to look for and to be prepared to fix

Unless you will be using the truck for commercial you won't need a CDL, but Alaska may be different... Unknown truck from Iron Planet vs Bulletproof proven truck from wreckerman893...no decision there...you said you'd send the truck somewhere to get rebuilt before you shipped/drove it to...

Buying a M939 at auction: What to look for and to be prepared to fix

Carefully Think over whether you have more time or more money to start with...in the end the two directions will be equal in money... Rusted older truck=cheaper start price but cost more time to find parts/buy parts repair rust & replace parts Newer rebuilt truck=higher start price but less...

    M923 receiver/hitch assembly

Mainly talking about Derick's bracket, but inside the rear of my frame is full of the 2 rams and the pivot for the bed...and the rear does not have the bumpers that a M923 has...it can be done, it would just require different mounting/engineering.

    M923 receiver/hitch assembly

I was interested to see it installed vs the other store bought one's ...Since my truck is a dump, it's not an option for me, I'd have to fab one that attaches to the rear of the frame somehow...
