    Disc Brake Engineering Thread

With this 6 wheel disc brake upgrade using the F550/F700/IHC 1652 parts—did anyone upgrade to larger brake lines or did they run the same size the truck came with? I plan on replacing all mine anyways, just getting my parts together. I got peashooters list of parts needed to go with the original...

Can I register my five ton historically here currently in Ca?

If you get it historic, it was like $120 a year for my friends m923a2. For my commercial plated one it was $700. Still cheaper than my Ram 3500, which is $1200. My deuce is $110. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can I register my five ton historically here currently in Ca?

You can get it registered easier if the SF97 is in your name. If it isn’t, you might as well throw it away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    California members

The easiest way in CA is to get a Vermont title registration and plates completely by mail if it’s over 20 years old Then walk into dmv with the Vermont items and swap plates. They have to register it due to reciprocity but don’t mention it’s a MV. Doesn’t work with HMMWVs or post 1997 diesels...

Can I register my five ton historically here currently in Ca?

Look up vin verifier, or “vehicle title service” in your local yellow pages. Or Google. Basically it’s just someone who on your behalf does all the correct paperwork for you and is authorized to work with the dmv. They know the rules and are one step better than the average civilian and don’t...

Can I register my five ton historically here currently in Ca?

Well, you got a lot of questions. If your truck is a 3 axle or greater, over 6000 lbs, then you need a CDL A or B. That is the way it is written in the dmv rules handbook. One of the reasons a lot of people Bob their trucks here. Historic doesn’t get you out of it, as written. Most LEO won’t...

    M66 hard turning

I never got around to it unfortunately but I’ll see later on my old phone if I got pics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    M66 hard turning

Only way to do what I mentioned is removing from the truck and flipping the ring upside down. Doing so on the truck would cause the heavy insides of the the truck falling on you and the roof and losing all the rollers and races. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    M66 hard turning

As far as I know that TM isn’t publicly available. I rebuilt one into an operable unit that was once demilled, with about a 3/4” torch gash cut thru it and missing 2 roller bearings. It was also made oval due to the handling and being thrown around at the scrap yard. I got it at $50 scrap price...

Need an MTV Mechanic in western USA, ideally near central CA

There is a Quinn-CAT facility just off 7th Standard (Merle Haggard) and the 65. They are not cheap. Although if it’s just a charging problem that is easy to diagnose and repair. Sometimes even a bad battery(s) will cause charging problems. Or bad ground. There’s several of us in town that can...

    Alternator conversion Kit

The lower updated military bracket I have, I’m out of town now but can get you one shortly. The upper you will have to make, easily enough. The pulley you will need to find I don’t have that, just look up 21si 2 groove pulley. They’re like $20. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Reviving this thread. So how do you run the rear setup with the mentioned parts with the hubs in the normal A2 configuration to run duals? All the pics I’ve seen so far are flipped for singles like the A3 truck. Am I missing something? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Alternator conversion Kit

That’s only a 40 amp alternator, probably ok on a deuce with the limited amount of electric items on it, you may notice issues driving at night with the heater on. Stock alternator is 60amp. Any 21si alternator will work. There are plenty of aftermarket (China) ones out there, $150-200. For a...

    Alternator conversion Kit

You need a 21si alternator, an 830279 delco 2-groove pulley, and fab up a simple bracket to support the rear of the alternator (check for write ups on this site). It’s basically plug and play if you already had the military alternator using a single wire. If you have the old type generator then...
