Thank you Guy. Would be running my 100% electric 1,500s/f house. Current temp is 15 degrees. Reason for my inquiry was last night there was a power failure. Needed to run the unit all night to stay warm.
We have been having quite a cold spell here in Virginia and with the holidays I have not done anything to the genset. I hope to get back into this very soon. I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and wish you all a very healthy and prosperous new year.
Guy, the meter reads 24.7. When I put the probes on each post it does not read anything however, when I connect to one post and the back of the gauge it reads 24.7. Is this OK. And, have we determined that my gauge needs to be replaced? Next, item I would like to asses is the oil pressure gauge...
With your help Guy, I feel very good about anything that I run into. Thank-you to everyone that has offered up solutions/suggestions. I am so thankful to have found such a knowledgeable group for this genset.
thank you. I will check that too. i haven't had a chance to do anything yet. This daylight savings time makes it difficult to do things in the evening.
Guy: thank-you. I will try this out tomorrow. When i first set-up my generator I was fiddling with the oil gauge in the open control panel and I touched something with a wrench, it sparked and that is when my Battery Charging Unit stopped working. Not sure what I did. The first thing we will...
Here are photos of my set-up. I want to thank all of the folks here. I would like to know about the goo and how to fix or what to replace. I cannot get the oil pressure gauge to work or the alternator gauge.
Thank-you sir. That makes me feel much better. I run the unit once a month to keep the battery charged up via the alternator. Do I drain the filter housing after I run the unit or after I run it. (The answer to that question is in the -12 manual, under the PMCS section.) I have a few other...
Guy, I will check those manuals out. Thank you. You are a wealth of knowledge. I will try and figure out how to post a photo. Does not appear as an easy task. Maybe it is me. I am generally very computer savvy. - douglas
Thank-you sir. That makes me feel much better. I run the unit once a month to keep the battery charged up via the alternator. Do I drain the filter housing after I run the unit or after I run it. I have a few other questions. If I am looking for spare parts such as alternator, batteries and...
I apologize, but my reply was cut short. I respect what you are telling me, but I have already run the unit since I did what I did and was hoping that since the second filter was clean and just the primary dirty that possibly the small filter was OK.
Sir, thank-you again. I did drain the filter from the bottom and there was no water. When I changed the the fuel filters the second one, right next to the one I did not clean was very, very clean and the 3rd one which I think is the primary was very dirty. I cleaned the housing out very well on...
Thank-you very much. I changed the oil, oil filter and changed (2) of the fuel filters but I did not mess with the smallest filter because I did not have a new gasket. Do you think that is OK? What size gasket would I need? I did not see any leaks. So far, so good. I appreciate all of the help...
