We use 200 - 500 gallon tanks on brush trucks with no baffles. Anything bigger would be a tanker or Engine and have built in baffles

m1078 conversion to brush fire truck

We have a 500 gallon tank, two hose reels and pump/motor and it rides like a dream. If you dont have the flatbed you should be able to mount at least 1000 gallons of water. Those Beds are heavy. http://halltownfire.org/images/Trucks/IMG_5672.JPG Rob

We have had this truck in service for a while now and the 500 gallon tank, dual hose reels and pump weight have made this truck a dream to drive. It is slightly slower taking off but everything else has been great. I will upload recent pics soon.

    Benefits of a M1078 as a firetruck.

We just finished our LMTV for a brush truck. It has a 500 gallon Military aluminum fuel pod as a water tank, two hose reels and a pump. We also use the truck for water rescues. This has been and excellent addition to our broke volunteer department.

This left the drivers side tire just spinning with no traction. Jeep and a 15,000 lb winch pulled it out with a pulley. Interesting side notes...1. our CTIS...
