New M1009, stuck starter, replaced with DH relay, won't start

Thanks for the heads up. Already bought the bolts from summit racing and they explicitly state during ordering that you have to buy each bolt individually. They were like $2 each. Amazon was just too vague in the product description for my liking. Ending up having to buy a brand new starter...

New M1009, stuck starter, replaced with DH relay, won't start

Starter was getting full power. So I pulled it and dropped it off at the shop.....and I'm pretty sure it's fried because it smelled awful. haha I also noticed that my truck didn't have the support bracket so I ordered new starter bolts and a new bracket.

New M1009, stuck starter, replaced with DH relay, won't start

Got the batteries load tested today and they're still good. Double checked the new relay and everything is working and getting/transferring power like its supposed to. Since the batteries are still strong, that means the alternators must be in decent shape so I'm happy about that. Looks like...

New M1009, stuck starter, replaced with DH relay, won't start

Yea, I'm pretty sure it's the batteries at this point. Charged them all day yesterday and still couldn't crank the engine over. Getting two new ones tomorrow. So far, I'm only out the $9 solenoid and two new batteries, which are things I was going to buy anyway. I just thought I'd have more...

New M1009, stuck starter, replaced with DH relay, won't start

Yes, after the incident first happened and I got the starter to stop, I connected the cables and it started to turn over again. So that makes me think that the starter is still good. This morning I had about 20 minutes before work so I checked the power at the new DH relay while starting. It...

New M1009, stuck starter, replaced with DH relay, won't start

Thanks for the replies. I'm pretty sure I read both batteries were at 12.6 and they had previously started the truck everyday with no issue for the 1 week I've had it so far. haha Tomorrow I'll do a load test and also check the voltage at the starter. I have a jumpstart power pack that I...

New M1009, stuck starter, replaced with DH relay, won't start

I bought the M1009 last week and the starter decided to runaway on me yesterday in a Petsmart parking lot. Luckily I knew about this problem and I was ready. It was stuck for less than 20 seconds before I had disconnected both batteries and stopped the starter. There was NO smoke, NO burning...

Hey everyone. New member from Southern CA here. I'm looking to acquire an M1009 pretty soon, even bought a medium towbar for the occasion. HOWEVER, the adjustable inner portion seems to be rusted stuck inside to the outer sleeve on both of 'em. I've soaked it for days with PB Blaster and...
