Well I am glad you may have found a solution. Keep us posted as the results. I have a couple of the 60's, but only one control unit an so it sits unused at this point. Worse case I could pull one of the 0 hours unit I have sitting.
I have so wanted to find and restore an M38. They are my favorite of all the Jeep variants. I was able to restore an M100 that I hope to someday have the appropriate tow vehicle for. Following your restoration with a little bit of jealousy.
So as someone who has regularly picked items up there, the Richie Bros yard is not at the Depot. It is actually just a couple of miles east of 395 on a dirt road. They do a decent job of maintaining it, but when its wet and or snowy it can be a mess. I have not picked up a truck there (several...
Have you downloaded all of the TM's yet? They are an incredible resource for most of your questions. If you use the search function, there are probably many older posts that cover the starter relay modification (Search for Dog head mod). There is also a whole forum on modifications for CUCV...
I have not found anything. The only one I found has been the TM for the entire shower unit, but it doesn't have this model listed in it. Figure there should be one for it similar to the MBU.
Has anyone found the TM for this unit yet? I looked around and have not been able to find it. I found one of these water heaters in my storage I forgot I had and wanted to see if it works and if I can get it running if it doesn't. Any help would be appreciated
Also, and not in Colts video. When the troop seats are up and you place the seat holding sleeve in, if you run the rubber cord around the fold out legs for each seat, they wont clank when you drive.
Holy cow that's a lot of politicin pictures. I can't compete with that but here is the story and a couple of Xmas pictures. I bought the LMTV from an estate sale and got a screaming deal. Too good to pass up. Turns out the truck was well maintained by the PO and all of the typical issues had...
Red zinc oxide primer was used on all the military vehicles. All of them also started out OD green. If a unit was in a branch with a different color scheme, the green would get painted over (like strata blue jeeps used by the Air Force). Not sure about white, but I think others above have...
It did not come from the military auction like that, somebody messed with it after the military unloaded it. It's just gas burners and would be no different than your backyard BBQ if it doesn't have leaks. It just looks old and thrown together. I would either convert to MBU version 3's (those...
Looking in more detail, it looks like someone converted to propane/natural gas. Follow the lines and I will bet you will find a tank connection point. The military burners were not hooked together at any time, so Bubba put that together. Not sure I would trust it without running leak checks. Did...
Read this thread. I followed and used the exact same parts. Worked perfect. Do you still have the military trailer connector on this or has someone already converted it to 7-pin? If not, what I suggest is doing just that. Remove the connector end, follow the military wire numbers for the 7-pin...
And I live just east of Sacramento (Cool CA). I see your close. I may have parts for stuff you may need. Most of the MKT guys here live way east of us.
Welcome Jeep Stew! I can help out a bit but there will be a few more that will chim in. First, go to the TM section of this website and get a copy of the TM for the MKT. It will help you quite a bit. I will answer your questions below:
If anyone can tell me-
1. What model MKT this is?
So, the...
