    24 volt alternator vs generator

    Has anyone swapped their generator for an alternator? I am in the process of doing a motor swap and figured it would be easier to go to a 24 volt alternator. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

    The motor came out of a 79 Chevy with granny low four speed and the input shaft where the pilot bushing rides is 1 inch on the Chevy trans. and 1 1/2 inch on the T98 so I think your right Larry, I think I have to cut the input shaft a 1/2 in. shorter.

    Used the alignment tool and pulled motor back out and rechecked, everything is lined up and the firewall is not stopping me yet

    Small block to T-98 Need help Putting the SBC 350 to T-98 and it will not go the last 1/2 inch. I have the Novak adapter the right pilot bushing and I cut 1 in. off the throw out bearing carrier on the T-98. Am I overlooking something? Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Novak told me that the only mounts they carry any more is the weld in type. I am not going to cut the old ram horn mounts out to weld in the Novak mounts. I will have to figure something else out, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I am attempting to install a small block Chevy in place of the 230, I will be changing nothing but the motor, I purchased the trans. adapter and it looks like it will work fine but the motor mount kit from Novak has a small piece of channel in the kit that the instructions...

    I read somewhere that if doing a small block Chevy swap and keeping everything else original you have to cut 1" off of the original throw out bearing retainer. Is this correct?

    M 715 bell housing Was wondering why I have to use the spacer ring in the bell housing with the Novak adapters, because the way the adapter mounts nothing fits in the bore of the bell housing to make a difference
