    MEP-1040 Owners

Hi All, I see that the MEP-1040's are slowly starting to trickle out onto the market based on the GP site. Does anybody have any real life use on them as a comparison to the MEP-803A's or anything? I'm very happy with my 803 but I'm genuinely interested to hear about the feedback on these as...

Ran first MEP-803a test on the house

Finally got to load testing the generator on my house. It ran a 4 ton AC, 2.5 ton AC, pool pump and everything else at right around 90%. I attempted to add my water heaters to it as an experiment and it pulled the machine to a halt. No overload light or anything. Looks like the water heaters...

MEP-803A backwards wiring on load gauge?

Just finally went through my personal MEP-803a unit for hurricane season. It's been a busy year so far, and I've been in a "cobbler with no shoes" scenario until now after adding my generator inlet box and panel interlock system. Might as well get it done while there's a hurricane out in the...

    Fuel Screen on MEP-8XX cleaning?

Just attempted to fill my MEP-803A and it is super slow to fill, after I disassembled and finally got around to installing the ultimate well nut modification(s). I pulled out the inlet screen to inspect it and it's pretty gummed up (can't see any light through it). I tried some carburetor...

Does anybody happen to know the part number and or NSN of the new style S8 switch on the MEP-803a (and 802a by default)

    Strip Lights inside generator

I was thinking of installing white led strip Lights inside of my generator, tied to the panel light circuit. Figure if I could light up the housing in the engine bay and around the generator head I could do spot checks for leaks etc. during operation at night. What do you think?

    MEP-802A/803A Coolant Servicing

Just wanted to pass along that I have found a solution to servicing the radiator on the MEP-803A (but should work find for the 802A's as well). I have a Lisle 24680 Spill Free Funnel that I used to fill up the radiator and bleed out the system. With the right included adapters, one can service...

    Crazy prices?

Are MEP-8XX prices still going for crazy prices ? I just saw this on Facebook, and on top of it all, it's a 400HZ unit, and not advertised as such. $10k? You could buy a new, computer controlled genset for that kind of money. Nothing against the guy selling it, if he gets it good on him, but wow!

Break in Oil for piston replacement?

Hello all, as mentioned before I'm in the middle of replacing a few pistons and all of the rings in my MEP-803. A question for the group. Would you run Break-In oil for the first 50 hours or so of operation while the rings get seated. Note, this isn't a complete rebuild, but I'm trying to...

    MEP-803A 751-42670/5 Pistons?

Hi all, name is Nick and I'm based in central FL. I purchased a couple of MEP-803A generators, 1 with 7k on the clock, and one with 9k (reset 2010 and put directly into storage, don't think MCB Albany changed the Hobbs meter out, but it's pristine and I got it for a smoking price, considering...
