    Dual Voltage Alternator Over-Voltage

When I was originally restoring the motor and removed the alternator, I was amazed by the mass of the alternator. I thought the same thing, this is literally bulletproof. Here is a little update. As suggested, I retested the alternator using the "Static" tests after checking the meters' cable...

    Dual Voltage Alternator Over-Voltage

Hello 87cr250r- So I do have (2) AGM batteries that seem to be fine. My "Dash" gauge spiked and I have a digital gauge on my USB pod (measuring both 24vdc and 12vdc) that also confirmed the voltage independently. It was interesting because there was not regulation of the voltage and seemed to...

    Dual Voltage Alternator Over-Voltage

Hi Coug. I'll recheck the calibration of the meter and double check the resistance. I hope the regulator is bad. It's a much more affordable alternative. The alternators are hitting $2K these days. Yikes! Thank you for the response. I'll report back with an answer.

    Dual Voltage Alternator Over-Voltage

Hi Mogman. Great Saying (which is what I always say).. It is Always Something! I've been using a Fluke 87, which has been around me for a couple decades now. I have the same trust with the old meter as you have with yours (some thing do just "mostly" work). Some things never let you down...

    Dual Voltage Alternator Over-Voltage

Greetings, I have an issue with my charging system that happened suddenly. I stopped to fuel up, and when I restarted the truck, my voltage hit 35-40vdc (depending on RPM). It seems that most people say the regulator is the most common issue, but using the test procedures from C.E. Niehoff...

    M1123 Starter Rebuild Manual

Thank You, Guyfang. lol.... Pluck-n-Chuck... I never heard that before.. With all of my readings, that was my impression, too. I will refer to your TM 9-2320-289-34. I was able to view TM 9-2320-280-24P-1 which gave the assembly sequence, but no assemble detail. Maybe between the 2 TM...

    M1123 Starter Rebuild Manual

Good Day all, My starter has progressively begun to fail to engage the engine. When I start the truck, the starter will spin but not make contact with the flywheel (flex plate?). I'm not sure if this is just an adjustment of a sign of the solenoid failing?. The truck is 2000, and I believe...

2000 M1123 Fuel Sending Unit Test Procedure

Perfect. I didn't even notice that when I was making the connections, and still wouldn't've thought to observe that now (without your input). Thank you for the info! Just in time too, as the replacement gauge is arriving today.

2000 M1123 Fuel Sending Unit Test Procedure

Good Day All- I purchased a 2000 M1123 last September and it arrived this February. Since it's arrival I've been replacing a bunch of parts (all the rubber hoses, fuel pump(s), injectors, 1/0 electrical cable, etc). Before this work, my fuel gauge was operational. I removed the gage cluster...
