    NHC250 Cummins fuel system

We flushed it pretty well but I like that idea of using some sort of injector cleaner with fuel and shop air. Will do.

    NHC250 Cummins fuel system

This particular rig must have suffered fuel contamination at some point and debris got passed the original stock cartridge. The magnetic screen in the pump and the screens of the injectors had collected quite a bit of contamination as well. We have drained and flushed the system and added the...

    NHC250 Cummins fuel system

Thanks for the reply. There are mini high pressure inline serviceable filters available in low micron ratings from specialized companies. This particular truck that we're working on has a 2 micron spin-on filter added as a secondary after the stock original cartridge unit. All that along with...

    NHC250 Cummins fuel system

Hello, Just curious to know if any of you have ever plumbed in an in-line filter between the PT Pump and injectors? I figured something in the 10-30 micron range. I'm not talking about a spin-on type filter just small and serviceable. I figure it can't hurt to have something just prior to those...

    Timing pointer M.I.A.

Thanks for the responses guys. Great photo Will. Nothing like that pointer is in view on our front cover. Could have been sheared off at some point in time. Timing pointer M.I.A.

Will Wagner, If it's there, it's buried out of view or shaved off. Thanks. 74W35A2, Thanks. I find it easier to go down through the injector hole with an extended dial indicator to find TDC.

    Timing pointer M.I.A.

Thanks for the link Doghead, however, my issue isn't how to perform the tune-up but rather why I can't find a pointer on the front cover to line up the marks on the pulley. I have read this link previously and it does give useful information. Thanks again

    Timing pointer M.I.A.

Hi, I'm new here so I hope this post is in the right place. We're in the process of getting a 1982 5 Ton Military truck back on the road. It is powered with the Cummins NHC250. In preparation for performing the overhead adjustments, we have noted the absence of a pointer anywhere on the front...
