    Strange New project issue?

Yep. Hacked is the correct word. I did jump the switch and found the purple/white wire was broken up stream. Thanks for the reply CUCVRUS.

    Strange New project issue?

New project bought not running, PO has done a lot of work to the truck and it was running. It’s had the dog head relay done. Symptom’s include, brand new batteries I installed. No crank, it has 24v to the red wire on starter relay key off and the purple/white does have 12v when in the “start”...

    Best CUCV replacement dash pad

I was a Dashes Direct dealer for about 10 years. There is only 1 manufacturer of the square body dashes and it’s them. All the parts companies just drop ship from the manufacturer. You have 2 options for dashes, vinyl over foam with the metal core. Or polyurethane. The vinyl over foam is the...

    M1009 won’t shut off

Thanks all, I do think it’s the solenoid. The truck will start without the IP pink wire attached. So it’s stuck open. I did take it apart and the barrel and shaft we spotless. Probably the switch itself. I have a new one on the way. Appreciate all the help. David

    M1009 won’t shut off

Buy your replies I am assuming the problem is at the pump if the ignition key is shutting off the power to the pink IP wire? Good idea’s I’ll try and test the solenoid. Thanks

    M1009 won’t shut off

…just trying to get an idea if it’s the ignition switch or the IP fuel shut off. with the key on I have 12v to the pink IP wire with the key off I have 0v to the pink IP wire so this would suggest it’s NOT the ignition…correct?

    M1009 won’t shut off

Thanks. I did take out the solenoid and clean it throughly. And it looked really clean before. The plunger and barrel are clean. could the solenoid itself be bad? thanks, David

    M1009 won’t shut off

Yes, I’ve searched the site, and did look through my TM. I have had the truck for several months and it didn’t do it at first but has gotten progressively worse. Started to stay running for 10 seconds then 30 then maybe a minute to shut off. Now stays running until I pinch the fuel return...

Just FYI, the main reason I created the webpage was to take my stuff offline of SS so as not to abuse or take advantage of Steel Soldiers. That is why I haven’t been posting on the site. I respect and want to uphold the integrity of our hobby. David

Like many of you I have enjoyed buying/restoring/selling/trading CUCV’s over these last 13 years as a hobby. However, I now have a special needs grandchild and 80 year old dependent parents relying on me. My webpage has now been deleted. But I hope to keep a few trucks going every now and...

    Starter issue

Thanks. Yeah, I know nothing about the truck except it made it home 2 hours and I stored in the barn at midnight. I really only tried to restart after sitting for several months, could just be timing on the starter, good thing is I got it out and down to the shop where I can pull out the...

    Starter issue

Thanks, the starter looks to be stock GM style. Mostly I was wondering if it was operator error when I tried to start the truck on the unknown batteries which were low/weak and that’s what fried the solenoid on the starter? Thanks David

Ha! Well lots of reasons really, its actually worked out great to have my shop away from my house, as i don’t go over but maybe 4 times a week, but get much more work done alone in a more uninterrupted time. The shop is on a small farm we own and i am able to separate work and play. Thanks
