    Power steering pump cradle...

Does anyone know if the PS pump cradle / bracket is the same on a CUCV as on a civy pickup? Mine was broken at one of the mounting holes and repaired poorly some time in the past and I'd like to go ahead and replace it while I have the accessories off the motor. Does anyone have one sitting...

Coolant leak around front of intake manifold...

My 1008 recently started leaking coolant at a pretty constant 'drip' down the front of the motor. Based on the amount and lack of pressure, I assumed the water pump was going bad and it was leaking out of the weep hole. Tonight, I pulled the accessories off the front of the motor for a closer...

M 1028 bolt on reciever hitch

I'm looking for the same thing... do you have a part number for the Reese you used, and any further info on what mods it took? Right now my truck has a 2" receiver tube welded to the bottom of the bumper. I'm ok towing my little john boat off of it, but don't want to put any more load on...

    M1008 Killing REAR battery?

Hopefully I'm not calling it too early again, but it looks like the rebuilt alternators did the deed. When I dropped them off, I only told the shop I wanted a complete rebuild. I didn't mention anything about the issues with the truck... when I picked the alternators up early this afternoon...

    M1008 Killing REAR battery?

Lavarock - Thanks for the info on the alternator diodes... Like I said, I'd never seen that happen before, but clearly that doesn't mean much :-) Both alternators are currently at the rubuilder. G-Force - That is EXACTLY the kind of info I'd been looking for. I've never had the need to do this...

    M1008 Killing REAR battery?

Welp, it's not fixed. Just went out to try and start it and the rear battery was dead again. I suppose I'm going to go get both alternators tested and possibly rebuilt and then go from there.

    M1008 Killing REAR battery?

Is the truck fixed? Maybe... I found a popped 10-amp fuse under the dash which I replaced, and I chased a whole bunch of wires and cleaned some connections. I didn't find anything heinous as far as corroded terminals go, but something I did worked. The volt meter is now working again, and the...

    M1008 Killing REAR battery?

Thanks for all the replies, guys. I'll definitely take the alternators off and get them tested. As far as the Gen1/Gen2 lights, they don't come on at all - key on/not running, at start up, or any other time. I'll check fuses and bulbs on those. I THINK fuses should be squared away, but I'll...

    M1008 Killing REAR battery?

Truck is still 24 volts. When the truck is running, both alternators give 14 volts at the + side. I feel like whatever is drawing current is drawing enough that even when runnign the battery never sees the full 14. One alternator is a little on the noisy side, but still putting out good...

    M1008 Killing REAR battery?

Yes, it's red  I'm thinking Desert Tan before it's all said and done. We'll see.

    M1008 Killing REAR battery?

First post here - I've done a LOT of searching with no luck. A little background - I'm a LEO in Georgia, and this spring I bought a 1985 m1008 that had previously belonged to a neighboring fire dept. I drove the truck daily for about 3 months until it starting acting up. I went to leave for...
