    NY Deuce owners

I’ve been thinking of joining the Deuce owners club, but have never been around one or driven in one. I’m currently an LMTV owner, so no stranger to military trucks. Is there anyone in the Albany, NY or Hudson valley area that can meet with me for some Deuce counseling? I can bring my Barbie...

    Air brake can leaking

Was adjusting my brake shoes today (.030”) and came across a leak I had not noticed before because of the non standard configuration of the parking brake. Air tanks full, engine off, and parking brake disengaged with wheels chocked. The drivers side, rear tire, rear brake can leaks air from...

    Loose rad fan

Was changing my coolant and thermostat today in my 97 1078. Decided I better check the cooling fan for looseness because of the horrible stories I’ve heard on here of fans flying into the rad. I turned the main power switch on, tilted the cab, and grabbed the fan. I was able to wiggle the fan...

    Missing transmission bolts.

Getting ready to change over to the transynd fluid and was doing some poking around under the truck to get ready. I believe I have several missing bolts around the circumference of the shift solenoid pan. There is definitely one missing from the filter cover. I think I may have another three...

    Stuck transmission drain plugs

    Unit markings and truck history

Is there a way to research the history of our trucks? My unit markings were painted over, so I sanded it off as best I could to reveal the markings. I’m the third owner of the truck since it was surplus. Markings look like 118 22 MB, or maybe 116 22 MB. Thanks for the help guys.

    LMTV splash guards

Does anyone know if the splash guards for the front wheels from an A1 lmtv will fit an AO lmtv? I have seen some that other guys have fabricated, but I’d like to stay with something more factory. I’ve attached some pics from another members truck who has them installed. I’m tired of the mud...

1078 and 1081 side light window interchange

Does anyone know if the side light windows ((#6) are interchangeable between the 1078 and 1081 air drop? The part numbers are different, but they look the same in the manual and pictures I’ve seen. I need a new one for my 1078.

    Blown head gasket?

Can someone help me diagnose what is going on with my coolant please? Just bought this truck last week. Drove it home almost four hours. When I left, coolant was clear and normal looking. Oil level was full when I left, when I got home it was about three quarts low. I am now seeing this white...

    Power steering fluid recommendations

I would like to drain and flush my power steering fluid on my new to me 1078. I have read a few threads where 10w oil was recommended, but have been unable to find this locally. Is there another weight or type of fluid that is reasonably priced and more readily available?

    Number placard marking

I flipped over my upper number placard holder today and it had a red C on it. Any idea what it might signify? Maybe a company designation?

    New LMTV owner with gremlins

I Picked up my new 1078 yesterday and drove it three and a half hours home. Didn’t have any major problems, but it does have some maintenance issues I need to address. Not sure if I should post all the problems in this thread or start a new thread for each issue? Here is the patient. I...
