I finally got around to getting a cb put in. The radio shack 102" whip works great on my deuce. I made an adapter plate to mount it to the sugar scoop. After I got the antenna on I did a quick radio check. I picked up the cb shop transmitting from eight miles away and the SWR meter barely...
Neil, the rocks are a pain, but the weather is the bigger concern. You never know what it's going to do next.
I picked up the remote reservoir from summit racing. I'll attach the article with the part numbers. It was a great addition. Dropping the side panel to check the fluid is a lot easier...
I got to show off the truck today. I took it to my wife's school as part of her lesson plan. The kids had a good time with it, and even got a couple of the parents involved. I also finished my pyro install. The past couple of days I worked on the instrument cluster, rebuilt the bench seat...
I just got the G177 tires on mine. You missed out on a life experience by skipping the NDTs. That's not an A/C condenser in front of the radiator is it?
I changed the oil today and added the spin on adapters from Jatonka. They went on quick and look great. After letting the truck get up to operating temperature I haven’t seen any leaks. I was impressed with the workmanship of the adapters. While I was at it I changed out the speedometer adapter...
I finally got the tires finished up today. I ended up cheating and taking a couple of the wheels to a tire shop to break down. I figure I broke down nineteen wheels so I’ll let someone else take care of the three that I just couldn’t get apart. While I was at it I installed a pair of lock outs...
Thanks guys, and that's a great looking truck MWMULES. I miss the BDUs, so I always prefer the Camo.
I have decided that if I ever need to fix a flat I'll take it to a shop. I like knowing how to do repairs, but that doesn't mean I have to do them myself.
I got back from Afghanistan last week, but didn't get my deuce back until yesterday. They past few months I have been ordering parts and making plans. I even bought a set of G177 tires from spartan_185 while I was on leave a few months back. My wife is not impressed with my pile of parts but it...
The LEDs work great. I haven't had any problems from them. The wipers are the kit for an A3 that I got from EasternSurplus. They are a huge improvement over the air wipers. Everytime the snow and ice hits I'm out pulling people from ditches, so I need all the help I can get. I was also thinking...
My done list:
1. Remote brake reservoir
2. Rebuilt axles (seals, cylinders, and pads)
3. Painted 3 color camo with matching cover
4. Dual spring bases with Wrangler bucket seats
5. Heated mirrors
6. Electric wipers with washer
7. LED lights all around
8. Backup and offroad lights
9. Dynomax...
Both kits inatalled easily. I put both in along with a couple of other projects in an afternoon. I get alcohol by the gallon at NAPA. The washer kit and electric wipers do a great job of keeping the windshield clear.
I got the windshield washer kit from Saturn Surplus. It was a quick install, but you have to drill a hole in the tub behind the hood.
The alcohol evaporator keeps condensation from freezing in the air system. It hooks up to the intake on the compressor and pulls air through the alcohol. It...
Winsol makes several products for vinyl awnings. I ordered a gallon of Awning Armor to use on my cover. After the first application it was much softer and water stopped weeping through the top.
How to clean, seal and protect a vinyl awning, woven canvas cleaning, cleaners and sealers for...
One suggestion for anyone installing electrical items, is a distribution panel. A while back I was going to install a fuse block, but that turned into a fuse/relay/distribution panel. It really makes things easy when you just have to plug something in and add a fuse.
