1009 Starter Rebuild - Detroit Area
I just had my 86 M1009 non shim starter rebuilt and they did an awesome job! I took my old one in and they basically had to replace all the guts. The armature was shot, the brush holder was melted (could have guessed seeing as there was no starter relay under the dash), she was pretty much... -

Towing home m1009
Seems an unnecessary risk towing it without disconnecting both drive shafts. I have always pulled the shafts when towing a vehicle, never had a problem. If you leave the shafts on and tow in neutral, parts in the trans are moving but the lubricating pumps are not pumping. My 2 cents, take it for... -
