    Yes, im studying for my Ham licence, all military comms this side of the pond is encrypted with frequency hopping and comsec (singars) so im not on their channels and they cant hear me. To be honest i will use it at MV events where the channels will be pre selected and approved by our radio...

    Antenna needed? Last question Carnac, I have two aerials, a mx607 on one side and a ab-558 with ms-116,117 and 118 sections on the other, do i need another aerial to receive on this extra r442? Pardon my lack of knowledge i am a combat engineer and did not listen well enough in signals school...

    Hey CARNAC, can you remember were the rt-524 and 2 x r442s mounted on the one shelf, is there room? I ask as i have vrc 47 setup in my 09 and i have a spare r442?
