    I can't remember where I found this, but one of the manuals has the load rating for the pintle itself-the NSN for the deuce pintle says it's (the pintle, not the truck itself) is rated for something astonishing like 15 or 20 tons. I'll look tonight and see if I can find it.

    Absolutely. This is exactly what I'd do. Do keep in mind that with air brakes, your trailer only has brakes with your deuce, but with electric brakes, it has brakes with your Ram 2500 and your deuce (once you've added a trailer brake controller).

    I am in the same boat-no 5 tons, but I want a serious flatbed trailer to haul stuff. The only m-series trailer I've seen is MTO-20 EET that's linked below and it weighs more empty than the deuce is rated to tow. Looking at Holden's site, they do make a smaller flatbed trailer, the MTO-16...
