    In the cicy world there is a primary brake shoe ( front ) and a secondary brake shoe ( rear ) . the primary has a longer pad than the secondary because it does more braking. The military uses the same size shoes for inventory purposes. Somewhere I have the old Raybestos manuals from the 70's...
