    But according to all the above posts 5 tons are not in those categories. Yes you can register it as a MV but you can't use it any way you want legally. And you still can't legally drive it without the CDL. I was hoping I could do exactly as you said, but members here have shown me that is not legal.

    I don't believe a bed or place to cook is a requirement for an RV. Recreational can mean lots of things. "relating to or denoting activity done for enjoyment when one is not working."

    This is a license, not registrations. FMV registration here is only 11 bucks a year, and has no weight issues. But to legally drive it you need to have the right drivers license. A class C is not a legal license for these trucks in Texas.

    I want to get the Class A, but she said I can't take the test unless I have a trailer that has a GVWR of over 10k pounds to pull during the test. The only pintle trailer I have is the M105.

    Thanks, I am going to try to get my Class B. This lady seems to know what she is talking about, she gave me the book to study to take it. Just not sure what she is going to say when I have no tag to show her. I guess I will just print out a copy of the Tm posted above.

    I still don't know how you find that stuff that fast. I can search for hours. I am used to manuals, I am a helicopter mechanic, but these electronic ones just kick my butt. Our electronic manuals for the aircraft are much easier to use. I want a paper copy bad.
