I know someone sells an aftermarket in line air filter. I would probably go hunting in a junkyard first for an OEM one. Ford and I think BMW used a lot of cylindrical ait filter housings.

Part number on the snorkel too? I'm sure the air filter lid isn't water proof but probably could be sealed with butyl tape.
