I did the install on my M923 about a year ago. I was able to open the battery box the same height as the bench seat. The only added component was a second support rod to help support the additional weight of the cover with the new seats attached. Please see my thread goldneagle's M923...

I installed the same seats on top of my battery box on my M923. Check out my thread on complete installation. I forgot to mention that passengers say they are very comfortable. When folded over the back has a tray to put stuff on.
