Update time, I found that the little key on the end of the throttle cam was laying loose in the pump. So the throttle was not controlling the fuel flow, and would explain why I wasn't getting fuel. That's the good news. While trying to rotate the engine to set timing I noticed ( injector pump...
I also noticed the injector pump has a small drip type leak . But I haven't been able to pin point it other than it doesn't seem to be coming from the lines or the center cap. But the bottom left of the pump drips slowly? ?
The new pump didn't have a timing button lol I had installed it on Saturday and no fuel. So Gimpy reminder me to swap them. When I took the plunger out on the new pump it was missing it. So I put the 1 from the old pump on it.
New fuel filters . And ran about 2 gallons thru the line to the pump before hooking everything up. The stream coming to the injector pump shoots a good 3 ft. The auxiliary pump doesn't work. I found a broken wire to it. Need to fix that next. But the other 2 pumps run and seem to move...
I have pulled the feed line to the pump and it was a very strong stream. I did try bleeding again. But seemed like I wasn't getting fuel. I had flushed everything out 3 times. But perhaps something got thru. I'm going to pull it all apart again on Thursday or Friday. I'm just not sure...
Ok the Saga continues . Got a pump fro Gimpy that looks and feels awesome! Put in the fuel button from the old pump . And set the timing . And it would spit a tiny amount out of the pump. Bleed everything several times . It seemed like #1 was not putting out almost no fuel. But # 2 was putting...
The metering sleeve seems to be the issue. Until I install the throttle shaft if floats like it's supposed to. But once the shaft comes in contact with the metering sleeve it locks up. I did pull out the the pump shaft and it had a very small bur in it. It stoned it out but it still...
Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!! I Think I may see part of my problem . The picture shows the piston that contacts the cam protruding past the gear. mine is flat level?
The 1 inside that moves up and down with the leaver was a bit stiff. The 1 that goes over top of that was Fairy easy except for the resistance of the o ring. I did put some grease on that to help install it and a bit on the throttle shaft cam that goes inside the body.maybe that messed me up ?
Well back to square 1 . Put everything back together except for the injector lines. Purged the fuel line before I hooked it up. Fuel solenoid works. Engine turns over, But no fuel coming out of the pump ??? Any ideas ?
After 5 days of soaking and playing with it its loose enough to try . Its pouring today so hopefully after church tomorrow Ill get it back together and give it a try. Thanks all for the help!
