    Ether on mep-002a

Well got the starter back from the shop today, put it on and s**t, it still doesn't work. I guess I'm going to have to find a working starter to buy , as the gremlins in this one got it good. If anyone has a WORKING starter, please let me know. Starter repair guy said he would refund my money...

BADJOHN, Man I really do appreciate your generosity on the starter but I think we may have the problem solved. I took both starters to him and he measured and looked and took apart. What he found and thinks the problem is was the "Shift.....Something", I already forgot what he called it. Its the...

Ok, back to the starter. I had a new 24 volt solenoid put on the original starter and it was bench tested at the starter repair shop. It worked fine, put the starter back in the perfectly running generator and tried to start it. SAME problem, It continues to turn over when I let off the start...

    Ether on mep-002a

Ok, so I took the starter off of the running Mep-002 and installed it on the Mep-002 that I could not get started, due to a bad starter I believed. Once I put the known working starter on the Mep-002, and upon turning on the start switch it activated the fuel rod at the IP and cranked over just...

    Ether on mep-002a

Ok, So I took off the starter (the one I took to the starter repair shop), again and took it to the starter repair shop again. Had him bench test the starter before he put on a new solenoid I had ordered. It tested just fine, everything worked great. Before I took it off and took it to him I...

    Ether on mep-002a

Well decided to abandon Gen #1, and try Gen#2. Bought them at the same time, Cleaned fuel tank, new oil and filter, new fuel filters, hit the start switch and looking at the fuel rod it jumps up so that's good. Preheat the glow plugs and it starts up in about 6 seconds. Ron it for about 30-40...

    Ether on mep-002a

Well, got the starter back from the shop, hooked everything up and turned the start key, it cranks over BUT still wont stop cranking after I release the starter key. Had to pull off the positive battery cable to stop it. I then put the positive cable back on and everything is good, starter is...

Sounds good, NO ETHER. Thanks, on another note the battery amp meter does not move on either unit I have. Dropped off the starter yesterday the guy is working on it, has a rebuild tag of 2004 looks new inside but solenoid was sticking. I guess I am going to take off IP and clean it just a little...

    Ether on mep-002a

Can you use either to try help get a mep-002a started. Or is it a no-no, I know you can use it on a diesel like the m923a2 but its not advisable on a cucv. Not getting fuel from the IP.
