    I have a Prestone Robertshaw 190 in my 6.2 with a autometer electric sender tapped into the crossover near the drivers head port. It reads a steady 190 on the gauge.     I drilled and tapped a 1/8 npt autometer sending unit in mine. Its working great, reads 185-190 steady with a 190 robertshaw thermo in it. There is roughly 1/4 of aluminum there, just seal it good and don't over torque it. for added security you could add a thin nut to the inside of the sender...
