    I see you also have the early style turn signal guard. The problem in finding out your exact year and branch of service is all the different parts thrown together on your truck. It truly is a hodge-podge of parts.

    First off, my truck is an Air-Force unit (1989) and it has undercoating. Second, that ether start is not military. It was more likely installed by the Fire Department. I also have spring mounted fenders. My truck also has rivets. These things don't mean much put together, at least not yet.

    Funny ! Actually I'm all in favor of running duals. Ever have a flat on a rear drive axle ? I have plenty of times, and having a dual there makes it so much easier to change out.     So true. I almost never post on "HH" problems since there are plenty of people who will and there are a ton of posts already about it. Same with tires.

    How large is your gauge panel ? The early deuces had a smaller panel by about 2" shorter. The starter floor button (bell crank) is also used on the early gas models like the "Studabaker REO" in the early 1950's.
