Yes, often the headlights were in the low spot for non-winch trucks and the high position for winch trucks. Many had 24v electric horns too(opposite the headlight install).
A trick I was taught long ago might help. Before you put the tube in to flare it, put it in the "grab bar"(not sure what to call it) upside down. Run a file across it to insure the tube's opening is flat, then turn it over and flare.
Before I was told this trick, I was maybe 45% successful, now...
I pretty much did the same thing today. Everything took twice as long as it should cause I kept forgetting things and had to take-apart and re-do EVERYTHING! Some days it doesn't pay to get out of bed.
I've adopted doing 15thou top and bottom. It helps if you pull the inspection cover on the drum so you can see the brake pad while adjusting them. Bottom first top second.
