Seriously looking at lmtv need input please

I believe the tractor protection valve controls that. It prevents significant air loss if a line is disconnected in action. I don't know exactly how it behaves firsthand though I don't tow anything.

I have had odd things happen when trying to operate with low pressure. If it's working fine now then it should be ok. I keep an extra check valve, among other spare parts, in the truck I drive. Good to have certain spares on hand.

If the valve had a bad diaphragm it would be bad all the time. I want to do a locker too. Won't help on ice though.

If the 3 pin control plug is the same as the warn mrap winches I have the plug for that. If you cant find a mate to the other its not hard to find a pair the same size and just replace it.

I have taken them apart its not hard. Keypad is attached to the computer they come out together then you can remove a few screws and separate the two. Keypad has small torx screws comes apart pretty easy. I had one with a really hazy display. The clear plastic piece is glued in but came out...

The trucks were not intended to be operated at high speed. You dont want to crash at 70mph in one of these trucks. It wouldnt be pretty. There are plenty of good civilian uses for the truck. Highway hauling is not one of them.

Yup Allison speed sensor on the right side held on by one bolt and a metal clip bracket. There are alot of different part numbers for it. I can look for the number. The wtec2 ecu is behind the keypad they are mated and come out as one. If you start messing with it be careful the back connectors...

The only hard part is getting the plug thru the dash.

Road use is hard on the tires. I think the goodyears are a little better than michelins on road. If you are out of alignment even slightly you will eat thru tires faster though.

I have a new idea for the regulator lead issue. Abandon the 24v wire and jumper a lead from the fuel solenoid positive. The other regulator lead can be disconnected and taped off. Leaving just the 24 volt lead to the regulator. I have not tried this yet so if anyone does please let me know how...

Check the 24v lead at the alt regulator. They have a habit of going bad.

There are places to run wires around the heater box and get power from the main panel to the right.

Mine was shifting funny I replaced the speed sensor with a used one from another truck I have and right away it shifted better and the speedo started working correctly. 2 weeks later the brand new sensor that I ordered came in and now it shifts even better. I could see harness issues arising...

I prefer driving the M1078 to my A2 5tons. It does a cool 57 1/2 mph on the highway but does not bounce around like the older trucks do. It has plenty of power for me like it is. I can easily keep up with street traffic though. I believe the Cat dealer can easily bump the power a bit if you want...
