    Lineman are trained to assume power is on but homeowners are not so when they turn that main off they expect it to be off. I will have to dig into this more because now I am curious just how that main breaker differs from a standard breaker.

    I just wonder if it is a different kind of breaker. Mine has a huge throw to it. One issue I have with transfer switches is that many make you select only a few circuits and I like to manage loads and have access to all circuits in my main and sub panels.
