    If I remember right the amount of threads needed for safe operation, is the same as the diameter of the stud. So if the stud is 1/2" then you need 1/2" depth of engagement on the threads.

    The tires perform the same you just need to be aware of the extra heat generated with the tubes in.

    If I had the money to spare, I would go with some 395's myself ! I understand the "keep it stock" thing also. Since the truck was designed to use 9.00X20 tires any larger tires will stress the whole drivetrain, but if the person is not going offroad and mainly drives on pavement why not go with...
