    Finally bought a MEP-831a

Swagelok fitting. Nice. 316? if so your good to 8000psi on .028. What industry are you in, you don't find those parts at Lowes?:-D

    Finally bought a MEP-831a

That was what I was trying to explain, even watched about 10 Youtube videos so I could try and explain, but missed mark and likely added to confusion. Thank you Chris for elaborating for all of us. Very well put. PF is Efficiency of device. I think I have a PF of about .6 :-D Some day i feel...

    Finally bought a MEP-831a

They are rated at .8pf which is taking into account of the inefficiency of and inductive motor. Wasted energy to magnetic field. Heaters are 1PF resistive load. No lost energy. As chart shows below 15amps at 120vac will have a different watt load due to PF. 15A to watts calculation with...

    Finally bought a MEP-831a

The one thing I did notice is that your electronic governor does not even look like it is control. The rod to the mechanical governor seems to be floating. The 831 with similar symptoms as your seems to do same thing. I've noticed on unit than runs well that the arm occasionally is not in...

Looks really dark for the hours, but considering you were running yanmar at indy car motor rpm's, it doessn't suprise me.

I would almost guarantee you will need one at some point. The ones I have had problems with looks like the pots have been over torqued and are heads all stripped out and are loose where you just touch them and speed changes.

No more likely the SLC 100. I have one that puts out 24vdc opening actuator to 100% and some that the pots no longer allow any adjustment. It should be close to 6vdc output between J&H at idle and 11vdc at full load

J&H directly off of the SLC 100. Those terminals are what controls position of the actuator

Would not be at all surprised if you electronic governor is bad. You can check between terminal J&H on governor module. Should be outputting 5.3vdc at no load and 11vdc at full load. If it is not steady and bouncing then electronic governor module may be bad. If it is steady in its output at...

Try reading in VAC and see what numbers are in case HZ on meter is reading incorrectly. However, that little yanmar is turning some rpm's, it could be spinning 4000 the way it sounds.

I do not know how this motor could have held together at 378Hz which would equate to almost 4500rpm. I know your meter is new, but another thing you can do is put on AC voltage 176 VAC (3050 rpm) output is 254 hz which is also no load. 194VAC equates to 3450 rpm or full load setting. I would...

    Finally bought a MEP-831a

I would unplug electronic governor and set the RPM to proper Hz (under no load) without any other outside influences. Once that is set up you can go to electronic governor setup. It could be plausible that it is over revving motor.

    Finally bought a MEP-831a

That was issue with mine the mechanical control arm had been bent out of way where stops are no longer in use to maintain the high end RPM. That was what made me think that I needed to work on mechanical governor. If you set it at its proper stops the electronic governor could not control the...

    Finally bought a MEP-831a

My first 831 was exhibiting same symptoms, whole area was black around exhaust, also the wire was cut and linkage on mechanical governor bent. It is a tier 2 with 20 hrs and believe something was not quite right after rebuild. My electronic failed so never finished troubleshooting, but believe...
