    Yukon Men Show and CUCV

Glad to hear the old CUCV is finally fixed ! Now that you have the road to Tanana I might have to make a stop there on the "Great Alaskan Adventure" !

The biggest problem with welding this cast-iron is it has been exposed to transmission fluid and gear oil. Since cast-iron is porous it absorbs that oil and when you get it hot (like welding) the oil comes out. I worked as a welder for a decade at a Marine Supply house. A lot of our products...

That adapter is "cast iron" not steel so you might have a hard time welding it up. If it is cracked I would just get a new one.

You might have a little problem getting that adapter for the NP205 transfer-case. That is one real rare bird now since the 4X4 community has been buying up all the NP205 stuff and junk yards and scrappers know the value of them. I actually bought the last "round hole pattern" one here in...

Well Stan I watched the show tonight, and all I can say is "way to go thinking out of the box like that ! " . Now about that crack on the transmission housing. It can be caused by a couple of things. One is your engine and transmission support mounts. They can get too loose and allow excessive...

    Yukon Men Show and CUCV

Just watched the latest show today. I liked your trick of using electrical tape and twine to fix the transmission leak ! That is thinking out of the box ! I would also replace all the transmission cooler lines as soon as possible and route them up in the frame rails instead of letting them hang...

I'm glad the box will be put to good use. Those are getting so rare to find in good condition like that one.

No he has it right. I had posted last night about Stan's disregard of that really nice equipment box but the system froze and deleted my whole post. I am glad the CUCV has a second chance on life but that was hard to watch ! Also that bed you put on is a Chevy bed. The announcer said it was from...

    Yukon Men Show and CUCV

I tried to watch the show last night but according to our scheduler it will not air until 4-7-2016. I also understand your situation about the road. I live in a area that is built up pretty heavily except where I live due to the fact the road dead-ends just past my land. Many neighbors have...

Hey Stan, what's the deal about a road going through town ? I see a lot of people don't want it. What's your opinion. I think it would be a great benefit to the whole community especially in winter. Supplies would be much easier to bring in, and we could drive up there with our military trucks...
