Something in my head is saying there is something else too. Did you ask power packer for a superseeded number?
Does the one on the right have one or two check valves? Asking cause one on the right has a thingamabobber sticking out at both the end of the "Tee" and the end of the "L". and am curious if these are the check valves your speaking of.

were on the leveler does it leak?... where the air line inserts? (hence the question on pin hole on air line right where it screws on) or out a seam in the valve casing.. or where the lever arm goes into the case or?
Thinking that line pressure goes up in the air line when the valve maxes out...
