    55 which should give you 2900 engine rpm. It really loves 45 but that isn't always practical. I stay at 55 in mine and have topped 60 on downhills. I also get 20mpg. Yes it can go faster if you want to replace/rebuild engine sooner than later. Engine redline is 3600
