M1088 project, no start. Not even trying!

The reverse polarity box is an unfamiliar animal to me. I don't know how to check that.

Also, the starter button is still intermittent. When it does anything, it acts like it is barely getting a connection, and the solenoid rapidly engages and disengages. I tried another starter button, and it did the same thing. All connections under the dash look good, and connections at the...

M1088 project, no start. Not even trying!

So, update. I took off the recirculating valve and replaced the o ring, and added a stiffer spring and it helped a lot, but it still takes a bit too much cranking to start. I am going to replace the filter housing and primer button next. I have a more pressing electrical issue though. I am going...

I am looking now for one. It looks kinda generic. Shouldn't be too hard.

M1088 project, no start. Not even trying!

I will check into a new one. According to the diesel mechanic at the truck shop said there are 3 check valves on the engine. One at the water separator, one at the filter, and on at the recirc line. So far, I found the o ring at the recirc valve is rough. Ran out of time for today.

Any idea where the check valve is on the fuel system? I replaced the filters and gaskets, and fired it up. Came back today and it won't start again.

Also, I tried doing the Allison self diagnostic, and when I pushed both arrows it flashed D13312. I did it with the engine running, in neutral.

That must be why it jumped out of 1st when I was turning hard on hard packed millings. Good to know. I have to figure out why the fuel is loosing prime after I shut it off. I don't want to keep using either to start it. I believe it is the primer bulb. Also, right now I am jumping the auxiliary...

M1088 project, no start. Not even trying!

I fired it up today, and checked the voltage, had 14 and 28. Brakes seemed to work a little better, and I was able to start out in 1st gear. I guess the default starting gear is 2nd or 3rd, but I manually turned it down to 1st before I started moving. It inspected kinda hard doing it manually...

Ha ha ha FloridaAKM! exactly! they robbed this thing blind of parts! Here is the pic of the missing part. It screws into the elbow and the wire plugs into it. I'm guessing a pressure sensor, but not sure what it controls. I will check into the limp home mode, but the display showed normal...
