The only problem with separate grounds is if you have potential on one ground system, and you somehow get connected to both of them, you become the conductor between them. here in Germany everything is bonded, and grounded.

Use the cheapest oil you can find, and do not use antifreeze. Just water. It's a waste to do it any other way. Then run it a few hours under load if you can. Change oil, filters and put in antifreeze.

Until you walk through the house, look at what each and every fixed load is, and maybe measure other loads, (lights, kitchen, that sort of thing) you can only speculate.
