Yeah I'd rather not be in trouble with the people that might care about that!

Guyfang I ended up with some more of the units with the same remote monitor connections on them. I opened the document storage on one and the whole binder with the modifications and directions for units with this modification was in the door. It gives more info than one would ever need. I'd say...

That is one of the dangers of working on running engines for sure. It will just be me in there working on it so I'm not real worried about it. I use saws with no guards just about every day. You learn to be real careful around running equipment! I can see why the soldiers took them off. It...

Hey just thought I'd mention I found a real good use for the shrouds I took off the sides next to the fan belt. I cut them up and made covers for the holes on the bottom of the unit. No mice or critters chewing through those!

Good idea on fan belt. I didn't want to use the fan for sure and didn't think of just the belt. I will take a breaker bar with me and hopefully they let me use to find a decent motor out of the parts units.

Update: Unit was ran for 4 hours tonight with heaters and halogen lights on it. Wattage wise it added up to 12500 watts and Fluke meter read 56 amps. Voltage held perfect no matter what the load. Hertz seemed to drop from 61.5 to 59.5 under heavy load and was verified with Fluke meter. Air temp...

The one the guy down the street from me was listed the same way. I can't get it to move by hand, and 2 quarts of water in the oil pan makes me afraid to even try to dead crank it. Jamawieb I think I got mine (which turned out to be a good runner) and the guy down the street all picked them up...

If you have a Menards near you they have they same brand and a tad bit cheaper. I think I will stop and get a couple on my way home tomorrow. uniquify had a good idea as they will heat as well as shed the load.

That's actually not a bad idea! Big box store near me stocks them as well and a little cheaper than Northern tool with shipping. Couple of the small ones with some halogen lights should create plenty of load. And it would warm the shop up in the meantime! Woodburner takes awhile to heat it on...

I do have an oven coming in a month or so but wanting to load test this before it gets to the nasty January cold. I have empty barrels and water heating elements, so that is why I was thinking of doing it that way. The plus side to a drum is I can pick it up and store it in the rafters out of...

I'm thinking a cheap load bank would be a couple hot water heating elements in a 55 gallon drum with the top cut off. Anyone done this for testing purposes? I'd run them through a 2 pole switch to be able to turn each off and on and that would let me check amperage with a meter while it is...

Well today I went ahead and did the ultimate well nut repair to both well nuts. If I'm going to depend on this thing I'd like to know everything that could go wrong has been taken care of. I put aluminum screen inside the 3 mesh areas to hopefully help keep critters and bugs out once it is in...

And the thermostat still glued on the fuel pump. I unplugged it, but left it there for fear of damaging the pump trying to get it off. Doesn't hurt anything either way though.

This ins't on my unit. I looked everywhere for something like this. It would have made it a little easier!

Unit was fired up and ran for an hour. It is producing voltage on a handheld meter, but I didn't put any sort of load on it. Next is a longer load test and stepping up the load. Ran just over 180 with 40psi on the oil according to the gauges.

You got that right! I thoroughly checked the rest of the unit for anything else. And there were some screws and nuts in it of course. If I didn't remove that harness I was going to remove the section from the stops switch and leave the rest there. Removing that would have been easier than...

Rock auto had them for $1.84 specifically for the application. Not cheap, but should last awhile

I've looked in the parts manual and done a search but not finding much info on the rubber washers in the fuel filter. There is one inside and one at the bottom of the bolt. Mine is slightly weeping and I'd like to replace it. Anyone have a source?

Demoh this mod had its own plug and the diag plug was taken out and laid in the panel behind it. If you want the system it will fit in a medium flat rate box for sure.
