    Winter storage tips?

My truck is parked for the winter now. It turns out the stone parking area at the new house allows me to position the truck in a way to minimize the likelihood of tree branches coming down on top of it, while allowing me to park a daily driver on either side of it. I still plan to tarp the...

    Winter storage tips?

I almost bought a house with a 5000 sf shop, but the doors wouldn't have been tall enough for my deuce unless I put the windshield down and towed it inside with a tractor! I hope to build a barn of sorts in the next couple years to store the truck and a future camper. Considering the inch of...

    Winter storage tips?

I was mistaken. It's chainsaw bar oil, not motor oil. But still mixed with diesel.

    Winter storage tips?

I've learned a lot in this thread, that's for sure. I'm curious about the motor oil/diesel underside coating. Does that last for just one season? I can't imagine that being particularly healthy for the paint underneath, but I could be wrong.

    Winter storage tips?

I know car washes are able to reclaim water, but I'd hope it gets filtered or desalinated. Otherwise what's the point? I'd be hesitant getting a car washed in the winter anyway. It's a good way to freeze your doors shut, nevermind anything underneath that it might freeze up. I think about how...

    Winter storage tips?

I get nervous about the underbody sprayers. Sure, fording is one thing, but pressurized jets applied to the underside? I'm nervous about that with my daily driver. Factor in freezing temperatures and you'd probably just freeze everything up. Yes?

    Winter storage tips?

Maybe some day I'll go for a snow romp. I used to do that with my 1999 Wrangler before its rusty, 210k mile frame about split in two! Actually, driving this truck reminds me so much of my old jeep other than the automatic transmission. Thank you for the tip about the diesel fuel additive...

    Winter storage tips?

Not sure you noticed, but that $450 is for the roof and frame only. I'd have to find something to build it up on, like old corral rails. I was considering a home-built PVC structure covered with a tarp or two. With moving in and the weather getting crappy, though, I'm not sure I'll have time...

    Winter storage tips?

It's going to snow here within the next few days, and when the salt hits the road, the truck is parked for the winter. Unfortunately, my new house doesn't have a treeless spot in the yard to park it. My biggest concern is branches coming down and damaging the soft cab and cargo covers. So...
