Definitely 9/16" square drive. You can see here that someone has tried to use a 1/2" drive on it by the dimples mid-way across the flats.

Another question - deuce #1 shows 2800 rpm at 55 mph (Sheriffs speed camera says speedo is accurate!), deuce 2 shows 2400 rpm at the same speed. Which one is right?
