they are part of the central tire inflation system. You can adjust the tire pressure from inside the cab for different loads and different terrain.

To be honest, I let some other guy monitor GL for 5 years until he found a such a nice one. I tool it off his hands for $11.5, and let him make a few$$

its a 1999 M35A3 and She's got the CAT turbo engine, tire inflation control system, 5000K on odometer, (a lot of other stuff im not familiar with) and is in really good shape. The engine looks new!
