Probably could have mounted it behind the frame rail, and it would have been a cleaner install. But I wanted it as close to the fuel as possible. Nothing that can't be changed later on down the line. For now I am running, and that was the main objective.
Success! Got the new electric fuel pump installed and she's running, like a champ. Here's a couple of pictures for your viewing pleasure. Total cost, eh, about $75 for pump, fittings, and odds and ends...
Been there, done that. Same exact thing with my truck, drips at primary with switch on or off, and dry at the secondaries. I'm close to 10% WMO in the tank right now. Mine is dead as she can be. The in-tank pump is working some, it spit fuel all over the tank and frame rail when the fuel line...
Pulled the pump yesterday afternoon, and to my surprise, (or disappointment), the bottom of the pump was still intact. Brought it to the workbench, and started taking the bottom off. There was a wire holding the bottom plate and screen in place. I removed the four screws holding the bottom...
Thanks for pictures early in this thread. I'm going to pull my pump out this weekend. I hope to find the screen plate and the shims laying on the bottom of the tank. It hums, but does not pump....
