I brought an air shift transfer case down to my shop today and threw it on the scale...465 lbs! It still had the parking brake assembly and drum on as well as the cross-member and gear oil. I knew they were heavy but wouldn't have guessed that much.
This place I do. I haul scrap from work which I weigh on a certified scale so I know how much I'm hauling in my deuce and they are always right on with the weights.
Well I just brought a standard deuce box to the scrap yard today and they said it weighed 1400 lbs with the tailgate on. Sounds about right, my 763 bobcat will lift one with some counter weight on the back since it sticks off the forks so far. If they were over 2000 lbs (like I thought they...
I often times find myself searching for weights of specific parts for the deuce, some I can find some I can't. If anyone has actually weighed specific parts from a deuce (ie motor, tranny, t-case etc.) this could be a helpful thread.
