    HP and Torque ???

Will be interesting to see the numbers and see how long it lasts. If fuel is increased, airflow must be increased (not decresed by adding muffler) in order to prevent meltdown.

    HP and Torque ???

Well the mfr said the exhaust was good for 15 hp and the intake 15hp and the pulley kit 15 hp so the dyno is wrong! I can tell, it feels like more than that! Hahaha! Have you seen the K&N commercial where they install it on people's trucks and video them taking it for a ride and gushing...

    HP and Torque ???

Ah, what the heck. Go ahead and crank it! Just keep a couple spare engines on hand! Haha! I kinda know how you feel, what a heartbreaker eh? I had a '98 California auto dodge that was a dog. This one never ceases to amaze me. A sidenote Re: transmissions. The Dodge NV4500 5spd is rated...

    HP and Torque ???

Yeah...same kinda stuff for me. I figure the highway patrol will hurt him as much or more than me without risk to me. Fools risking other people's lives sets me off.

    HP and Torque ???

    What brand/size engine is that?

    HP and Torque ???

Bahahaha! I've caught myself doing stupid crap like that too....but mine's mechanical, so no shutoff...but it does redline around 100mph... Why were you chasing him? I usually run unsafe drivers down to get the plate # and call the authorities.

    HP and Torque ???

'Cuz I feel like it. Actually, I'm here becasue I grew up around OD iron and would like to own a deuce some day....and I didn't tell anyone what to do, just my $.02 and your results may vary, do your homework first....just like he's gonna do. I only know enough to be dangerous....actually I...

    HP and Torque ???

Nice ta meet ya. I think the same. The previous owner of my truck built it....I woulda gone a little more conservative, so I just try to remember to drive it conservatively....but that's hard! :-D

    HP and Torque ???

Agreed. Mmmmm, Cummins. :-D That was gonna be my next suggestion.

    HP and Torque ???

I kinda figured you knew a thing or two and were just looking for specific info for the deuce engine. Sorry I can't provide it. Mostly wanted to argue against the "Don't touch it, it will explode as soon as you touch the throttle!" mentality.

    HP and Torque ???

doghead, I don't own a deuce. I think a Cummins Dodge more closely relates to one that a small car though. Are you always so, um, abrasive? randysycle, 18wheelers used to get hotrodded a lot until the EPA, etc. started breathing down people's necks for smoke....and we're not talking 18wheelers...

    HP and Torque ???

My Dodge will peg the pyro at 1600 when you romp on it. Conventional diesel pickup hotrodding wisdom says it's OK for short distances, you keep it cool by keeping your foot out of it on long pulls.

    HP and Torque ???

Probably should post up in the hotrodding forum....?

    HP and Torque ???

I'm sure someone has hotrodded these engines...like you said, more air, more fuel, some timing tuning, etc = more power. Go for it! My '95 (all mechanical) Cummins Dodge has a modded pump, bigger injectors, bigger turbo, bigger pipes in/out....434 hp and probably twice that tq. One downside is...

    HP and Torque ???

horsepower, schrmorsepower....there's torque too you know. The deuce prolly has several times the tq of the Cavalier...apples to oranges. Your 3500 is a much more modern engine with a much differnt purpose in mind when it was built. How many cubes/how much tq do they make?
